One day before I left for Church Camp, I heard a voice
said to me “Jamie remember to buy Travel Insurance”. I picked up the phone and
buy directly. The salesman is very profession and experience. He offered me a
plan provide the coverage for pre-existing medical conditions while I am overseas.
I am reminded God offer everyone a free insurance. His coverage is more than what we asked. He
gave His begotten Son Jesus Christ to die for our sins so that we could have
eternal life. All insurance have condition to fulfill. The bible tells us God’s
character. He hates people rebellion against Him, ungrateful and worship idols
Roman 1:18-23. The consequence of the sins put themselves in danger. In today
we often heard news reported troubled societies. People are living in fear,
insecurity and speak harmful word against one another. It is God’s grace that
we have the privilege to receive love, peace and joy through His Son Jesus
Christ. John 3:16. We do not deserve to receive this privilege; he freely gave
us. For example a man brought insurance from the company. The company gives
some freebies such as voucher, umbrella to them. The man will redeem his
freebie at the counter by faith. He doesn’t have to think, it already made
known to him that he will receive it. After he has received his freebie and
enjoyed a full insurance coverage. He has the responsibility to stay healthy
and safe.
Likewise God would set a high standard for His
children to follow to keep us healthy and safe. When our old self was crucified
with Jesus; we are no longer ties down by our past sin. We have a new identity
in God’s kingdom. We are heirs of God and co-heir with Christ Roman 8:17.
With the travel insurance, not only we want enjoy the
journey as well we can fellowship with others Christian. Our time on earth is
only temporary so we will do our best to live sacrificial. I enjoyed the skits
last night. One, people come to us for help. Two, Me first, You second. What is
our response to them? Thinking must be fake or out of our inconvenience. Do we
turn them away. How do we show love and continue our fellowship with our
brother and sister in Christ? I can’t possible please everyone. God teach us to
go extra miles. Like the Samaritan help the wounded man. He gave money to the
inn keeper to take care of him. He will foot the bill he spent there. What a
gracious act. He showed kindness to the man without demanding him to pay back.
That is the servanthood. Jesus is here to serve but not to serve. The lesson I
learnt in the Roman taught me humanity. God save me, forgive me of my sins. He
wants me to do the same as He did for me. Enjoy this faith journey and make it
meaningful.
